New Product Combination: Nano 20 plus Acoustic EnclosureHalcyonics expands the range of noise damping solutions for SPMs: after market presentation of the Halcyonics Nano 20, Halcyonics now introduces the new compact Acoustic Enclosure 200. The combination of Nano 20 with acoustic enclosure has been especially designed for use with so called entry-level AFMs. Applications for this combination include Agilent 5400, AIST-NT AFM, DME DualScope™ 45/95, Nanosurf EasyScan 2 + Mobile S, Nanotec Electronica Mini Cervantes FullMode AFM system, NT-MDT NanoEducator, Veeco Caliber and others.

The new Acoustic Enclosure 200 has been optimized for the use with Nano 20 systems. The enclosure is light weight; it weights 20 kg (44 lbs). The door opens wide, offers good accessibility of the inside AFM. Furthermore, the door can be easily taken off – for instance during the setup of the AFM. Major advantage of the Nano 20 concept is that the isolator does not heat up the air volume inside the enclosure. Nano 20 isolators use a small external controller. For that reason, almost all electrical power is consumed at the control box – any thermal power loss is kept far away of the isolation unit. For users of acoustic enclosures this makes a big difference since all other active desktop systems generate heat inside the enclosure.
